By becoming a Member, you agree to abide by the following rules, and adhere to and respect the Moderators and Administrators who enforce them. These rules are subject to change at any time. If you have any questions, feel free to contact one of the moderators.
The Rules
-Conduct
Absolutely no flamming. Flaming is the performance "art" of posting messages that are deliberately hostile and insulting in the social context of a discussion board (usually on the Internet). Such messages are called flames, and are often posted in response to flamebait. Flaming is one of a class of economic problems known as The Tragedy of the Commons, when a group holds a resource (in this case, communal attention), but each of the individual members has an incentive to overuse it.
A flame may have elements of a normal message, but is distinguished by its intent. A flame is never intended to be constructive, to further clarify a discussion, or to persuade other people. The motive for flaming is never dialectic, but rather social or psychological. Flamers are attempting to assert their authority, or establish a position of superiority. Occasionally, flamers merely wish to upset and offend other members of the forum, in which case they are trolls.
Similarly, a normal, non-flame message may have elements of a flame – it may be hostile, for example – but it is not a flame if it is seriously intended to advance the discussion.
-Privacy
As you probably know, the staff here has access to your personal information, such as your email and IP address. We will never sell or give out this information without your consent. We will only use it when we have to contact you off the board, or if a banning is necessary.
-Spamming
We do not support spamming, and we are very strict when dealing with spammers. For those of you that don't know, spamming is repeatedly posting again and again, usually the same thing. Any member that spams will immediately be banned from the board.
If someone decides to start spamming, please don't respond, it only creates more. Instead, PM an Admin or a Super Mod, and they will take care of it. Any member that makes a response to a spam thread, which results in more spam posts, will receive a 1 day ban.
Spamming includes:
-Flooding PM boxes.
-Posting repeatedly on the board.
-Emailing a member again and again.
-Harassing members repeatedly on instant messenger services.
If you fall victim to one or more of the examples mentioned above, please contact a Moderator or Administrators.
-Thread / Posting Rules
Religion and Politics are allowed to a degree. It has to be civilized and relate to the subjects applied.
Please try not to double post. If you accidently do, just edit your post and a moderator will delete it. However, if you feel you need to post twice when addressing different issues in a thread, that is allowed.
Please make sure you post in the right forum. Threads posted in the wrong forum are subject to deletion/removal.
Posting comments just to raise your post count is not allowed. A common instance of this is replying to questions that have already been answered and repeating the answer, or just posting nonsense that has absolutely nothing to do with that forum or discussion at hand. This also goes for thread bumping.
Please do not hijack threads. Hijacking is when you post something in a thread completely unrelated, and it throws off the discussion. This is also very annoying, especially to the thread creator. Anyone who does this will receive an automatic 1 day ban.
Please write in a legible and coherent manner. *typing like dis onlee maks u look lik a fool*. That also includes adding a bunch of "!!!!!!!!" or "?" to the end of your sentences. We're educated human beings, please show that much in your writing. I've noticed many, many spelling errors in post and thread titles, and the staff here is tired of it. Some of us have even been asked to edit people's post and correct their spelling. Not only is this an annoyance to us, but it shouldn't be needed. Proof read EVERYTHING before you post it.
Cursing is generally accepted, just don't over do it.
Leave the episode discussion threads to the staff members.
Do not argue with an Administrator or Moderator in public. If you truly feel we were unfair about something, PM one of use in a mature way and we will revise our decision(s). DO NOT create a thread about it! If you do, you will recieve a permanent ban.
Keep an open mind, and respect other people's opinions.
-Staff
Please do not ask to become a Mod or an Admin. They are chosen based on attitude, maturity, and knowledge. If you follow the rules, help people out, stay active, and be yourself... Chances are you'll get yourself noticed.
-Accounts
One account per person. If any member is caught having a second account, both names will receive a permanent ban. Account names must adhere to the general rules of the boards - no profanity, obscene language, or personal attacks are allowed in usernames.
Try not to go crazy with these.
-Warnings
Generally, a member will receive a few warnings before receiving a ban. The Administrators and Super Moderators are the only ones that can ban, so that decision is left entirely up to our discretion.
-Bannings
Anyone found registering a new user name after a temporary ban (or a permaban) will be permanently banned (again, in some cases) from the board. (Possibly your IP, too)
-Name Changes
Name Changes are gone for good for all members except Admins and Paying Members. Anyone requesting a Name Change will get a 1 day ban.
